I didn't make a post yesterday - OH NO! I was in London ALL day & didn't get home till very late, sadly there was no time to do even a sketch. So today there are two posts to make up for it. I did these this afternoon after racing around all day - seems to be the norm at the moment, anyway, I hope you like them.

This is a very quick sketch of my brother & sister-in-law's dog Chopper. I have been racing around all day & have had no time to do a picture so that is why it is a really quick one - all good practice. It is 9.30 & I am having an early night as tomorrow is a busy London day.

I had to do todays picture this evening because we have been out all day & I had no chance of getting it done where we were. So I know it's late but here it is at last. It is becoming a discipline & if I don't get a piece done each day I feel I have let myself down - I have yet to miss one. I really enjoyed doing this one and although I am very tired I am glad I managed it.

Today a nude, not very detailed as there was little time, but I enjoyed the study anyway. The paper was far to small and so this will be something that will be done again on a much larger scale.

What a day! Certainly was not in the mood to draw, paint or anything, but finally I decided that I MUST do a piece & keep up the project. I did this one this evening so it is late going onto the site - sorry for anyone tuning in & missing it - but it is finally here. I was bought some wonderful Pinks yesterday & thought I should draw them - or a couple anyway.

I had to draw whilst out & about this morning, so waiting for my son's drama class to finish I drew the young kids & their parents etc playing Saturday morning footy.

I have posted this later than usual as we have had a very busy day. After a quick lunch we went off to our local village fete day & ended up there all afternoon! we are all exhausted but it has been a really lovely family day out.

This is a portrait of my good friends daughter Malena. I was sent the photograph yesterday of her & not really knowing what to draw this morning decided I would give it a go. I am really enjoying doing the portraits, I can't say I find them easy, but I guess it's all good practice.

Today's piece is from the imagination. I spent ages trying to think what to draw - not feeling very inspired today! Then I decided to do some sail boats on the sea, a relaxed, sunny picture.

So here it is, the first one in another 30 in 30 line up. This time it is going to be various drawings. The rules are pretty much the same as before, but with a few alterations. The medium has changed as has the paper size, but I think the time constraint is going to be kept the same (no more than 1 hour for each piece) and probably the location will remain the same (at home on the dining room table), although I will have to work in other places if I have to be out and about for my son or other family members.

This piece is of my son Josh, who is 4 years old going on 34! He was reading his Spanish flash cards whilst I drew him.

30 drawings in 30 days! new project starting

Tomorrow, Monday 9th June, I am begining the new project. They will not be paintings but drawings - using pastels, pencils, charcoal & maybe a little drawing pen here & there. I have already pre-cut my 30 pieces of paper & my art bag is ready to go!

I'm going for a walk now because the sun is out & it's going to be really warm today - hopefully at least 26 degrees C.

MORE TO COME...STAY TOONED!

Well it is the end of my first project. The new one should begin on Monday 9th June 08 - I am trying to gather materials to paint/draw whatever onto. I will keep you all posted, so far I have nothing - no card, etc - it can be tricky when you need 30 pre-cut pieces. This weekend is going to be busy!

The Merry-Go-Round

Well here it is. The very last one of this series of 30 paintings in 30 days. I can't believe it's the end of this lot! A new series will begin on Monday 9th June 08. There will be a slightly different set of rules though next time. This has been very eye opening & interesting for me and has given me the confidence to continue & perhaps exhibit some of my work. I have no exhibitions lined up yet, but hopefully soon.
