Roof Tops
Acrylic on Canvas
This was originally a different piece of work that I began recently, but it turned out to be not as great as I was expecting so I turned it into rooftops by moonlight instead. Quite abstract with a couple of pusscats thrown in for good measure.

Kite Surfing, Tarifa, Spain
34cm x 16cm
Acrylic on plywood
After a brief but fab visit to the most southernly tip of Spain, I felt inspired by the area to do the above painting. There is an almost constant wind in Tarifa and because of this it is one of the worlds best places to go kite surfing. There were hundreds of kite surfers flying over the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
"Tarifa has two prevailing winds, the south easterly known as the Levante and the westerly known as the Poniente. This is because of the mountain ranges on either side of the straits which not only bends other winds but also acts as a funnel, intensifying it. " http://www.tarifa.net/site/html/wind/main_wind.html?lingua=02&percorso=3&livello=302
The water was wonderful - once you were in!! and great fun jumping the waves. You can see Morrocco from Tarifa and also the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. Morrocco is only 14KM from Tarifa and takes 30 mins by ferry.
